Most photo labs will print digital images on standard photographic paper – these will last longer than most home-printed photos. Just take in your camera card or a CD with your selected images.

How to make a Zingy Body Scrub

The scrub is made up of two parts: the salts, which slough away dead skin cells, and the oil, which provides moisture and conditions the skin. To perform the spa’s full-body scrub at home, you’ll need just half an hour and the following ingredients.

Lime and ginger salt

2 tbs fine grain sea salt

2 tbs Epsom salts

1/2 tsp ground ginger

1 tsp grated fresh ginger

The zest of 1/2 a lime

Lime and ginger oil

75ml sweet almond or canola oil

5 drops ginger (Zingiber officinalis)

pure essential oil

10 drops lime (Citrus medica)

pure essential oil

1 lime, quartered

Method:To make the lime and ginger salt, place all ingredients in a bowl and stir to combine. To make the lime and ginger oil, place all ingredients into a bottle with a screw cap. Slowly upend the bottle to disperse the essential oils and the lime. Do not shake.

Application:

  1. Drizzle the oil over your legs, followed by your arms, back and torso, then sprinkle the salt over the top. Massage each area, using slow circular movements. Spend time working the salt into dry, hard skin such as heels and elbows. Do not treat your neck or face as these areas are more sensitive. Allow yourself the pleasure of a few moments to savour the aromas.

  3. When you are ready, jump in the shower and wash the solution away. Use high water pressure at a warm, not hot, temperature. Next, give yourself a spritz of cold water at a lower water pressure. Try alternating between warm and cold water in five- to 10-second intervals to really get your blood circulation going.

  4. Pat yourself dry with a towel and then retire to a quiet corner with a soothing cup of herbal tea. Close your eyes and let your mind gently drift.

Tip: For the full spa experience, cover a table, chair or carpeted floor with some plush towels and recline while you exfoliate.
