Delight in the detail
Clever design and eclectic taste combine to create a cosy home with eye-catching appeal.
Light relief
Display collections near a window where they will catch natural light. Different sized frames add interest to a wall – you can create a collage dedicated to a loved one, a trip overseas or a child’s birthday. Alternatively, stick to a theme, such as black and white pictures or nature shots, and continue it with your chosen ornaments.
Frame, set and match
A congregation of framed pictures and paintings functions as a compact gallery, attracting attention with an interesting diversity of images. Enhance a valued work of art by gilding the frame – you can do this yourself by taking a course (enquire at your local art supply store). For another framing idea, construct one using small pieces of driftwood.
Future plans
Children’s bedrooms are often the smallest in the house, yet also the most utilised, and so need to be carefully planned and designed. This bed features plenty of storage underneath for toys, linen and clothes. Decorating a child’s room in white means it can easily be updated as the child grows older – simply change the doona cover, posters and ornaments.
