Decorating tip: festive aromatic plants
Fill the house with aromatic plants this festive season and your senses will come alive. For a traditional scent with a native twist, pair spices or hardy herbs such as rosemary with eucalypt twigs.
Alternatively, tie bundles of cinnamon sticks together with pretty ribbon for a gorgeous ornament that smells divine. A traditional pomander (an orange studded with cloves) doubles as a festive ornament and a deodoriser you can hang in your wardrobe once the holidays are over.
For a subtler scent, twine jasmine, gloriously abundant in summer, through a pine branch: it’s an aroma perfect for Christmas in the sun.
