Ironing Tips

Ironing Tips accompanying image

Some loathe ironing; for others it’s a simple domestic pleasure.

There are ways to make this neccessary chore easier:

  • Your iron should be clean and free of residue – if not, heat on low and pass over slightly rough paper until it leaves no mark.
  • A light spray vanquishes creases – we love fragranced linen waters as they smooth and scent at once.
  • For easily scorched fabrics a pressing cloth is a must. Use a wide-weave linen tea towel if you don’t have the real thing.
  • Your ironing board must be sturdy, the right height and easy to fold.
  • The ironing board cover should fit perfectly, allowing the iron to glide and reflect heat back. We love Fitz Like a Glove covers from Interface, not just because they’re made in rural Australia by people with disabilites, but also because they really work.

Hi Sad and Rejoyce,

I love the juxtaposition of your names!

The website for the company is in the article in the magazine, it's also on the page above, but somehow has ended up below the ad and difficult to see. I'll ask Helen, our on-line producer, to see what can be done about it.

The website is www.interfaceaustralia.com
