Write on, wipe off

Chalkboard paint has been a favourite with canny decorators for several years.

Its only downfall has been the limited range of colours. Black and dark green can be gloomy and don't go with every scheme. Thankfully, a palette of brighter colours is now available. We've used a few of the new shades to paint this simple plywood storage unit. Ideal for storing bits and pieces, the labels can be updated with the wipe of a cloth.

You can buy liquid chalk textas too now, so you don't have to use dusty sticks of chalk to write on the painted surfaces.
