Australia day has become a day of mass celebrations: fireworks, flypasts and city-wide events. While a big bash is terribly exciting, it can also feel impersonal.
This year, why not put aside some time to celebrate with friends and neighbours. A friendly barbecue is a true Australian tradition, especially if it involves a spot of backyard cricket and lashings of pavlova.
