Soil quality is the most important element when it comes to planting herbs and salad greens. The most difficult areas for cultivation are those with heavy, waterlogged soil.
Generally tolerant of most conditions, herbs will flourish even indoors when they receive plenty of sun during the day. Planting in pots is a great alternative if a garden bed isn‘t feasible. They allow you to control drainage and soil quality and move your crop to the sunniest spots through the year. Label your pots, especially if you plant seedlings – a permanent marker should do the trick.
